He has delivered papers in major Journalism Workshops organized by several local and international agencies, including the World Health Organisation (WHO). Mr. Mbamalu’s 13 years of working with The Guardian has seen him demonstrate passion and commitment to journalism ethics. He has been mentoring younger colleagues on appropriate response to “New Media disruptions” in journalism practice through constant skill acquisition and development. He believes that to keep the “old wine” in an attractive “new bottle” for today’s readers, journalists must align with New Media trends by updating their tech skills (as new readerships evolve) but keep to the old-time standards of truth, balance, fairness, and “impact” through investigative reports.
