Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi

Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi is a graduate of Development Studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations with specialization in Gender Studies from Swansea University, United Kingdom. She commenced her advocacy work by interning at the United Nations Headquarters, New York and Half the Sky Movement where she worked on projects and wrote articles on women, girls, children and social justice.

Oluwaseun is the 2017 Future Awards Prize for Advocacy Winner, the 2017 Future of Women Africa - Social Impact Award winner, One the 2017 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians, 2017 Queens Young Leaders Award Highly-Commended Runner-Up, 2015 fellow of the Vital Voices Women Lead Fellowship.

She currently is the Executive Director of Stand to End Rape Initiative (STER), an undoubtedly the most recognised and significant youth arm working to advance end gender-based violence in Nigeria. At the 2015 Social Media Awards Africa, STER Initiative won an award for the Best Use of Social Media by an NGO in Africa.

Oluwaseun has worked in over 40 communities across Nigeria speaking against FGM, rape, teenage pregnancy and working with stakeholders to end the scourge. She is a budding young leader, fighter and inspiration to so many. Being a victim of rape herself, Oluwaseun took the lemon life gave her and made lemonade out of it.
