Toks Bakare is an international behaviour analyst who has over a decade of experience in the field of developmental psychology. In early 2014 she founded asktoks.com, a start-up organization for families in need of professional behavioural advice, treatment and support. At asktoks.com she is an independent specialist consultant, providing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism, other pervasive developmental disorders and related developmental disorders.

Toks has consulted for the UK Young Autism Project in the UK, medical clinics and a number of educational institutions across Nigeria, to enhance the campaign for autism awareness. Through asktoks.com she has pioneered the use of virtual reality technology within the field special needs education in Nigeria. Asktoks.com also uses virtual reality as a means to change the way people understand autism, breaking the stigma surrounding people with learning disabilities.

Ms Bakare’s commitment to improving the quality of service provision for children with special educational needs in the country has translated to thousands of hours of practical training in ABA for special needs educators and therapists over the last four years. She does this because she strongly believes in education that acknowledges multiple intelligences and the potential for all children, no matter their ability, to lead full and meaningful lives.
