The Future of Payment: Understanding The True Cost Of Digitization
Limited Capacity filling up

What happens when the sale can be anywhere, at any time? Over the past few years, payment technology has moved forward rapidly – offering consumers a more convenient and streamlined payment experience. But where to next?

Today, new technologies have emerged that will disrupt — and are, in fact, now actively disrupting — the complex network of relationships involved in most retail transactions. The vast “middle” of payment processes, once an absolute necessity to banks, and retailers, is no longer so vital. We no longer have to bring that much cash around on hand with us to buy the things we need and want. The most we need to make room in our wallets and purses for are some plastic cards, or better yet, none at all, if we already have our smartphones with us. And with it just a few more months until the holiday season—where there will obviously be a lot of money changing hands—we’re running a series of articles that tackle each modern payment system currently in use right now. What they are, how they work, and what their pros and cons are.

Truth is, changing payment systems means deep changes to what banks and retailers fundamentally are to consumers, how and why these consumers shop and what they expect, and what brands and revenue streams will be — or can be — to banks and merchants in the future. This session will expose participants to new trends in the payment industry and how brands can leverage on this to better user experience; especially as it has to do with banking, travel, ecommerce and nonprofit.

The Freelance Economy: Technology, Jobs, And The Future Of Work
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Automation, digital platforms, and other innovations are changing the fundamental nature of work. Understanding these shifts can help policy makers, business leaders, and workers move forward. Many activities that workers carry out today have the potential to be automated. At the same time, job-matching sites such as LinkedIn are changing and expanding the way individuals look for work and companies identify and recruit talent. Creatives Connect: Building Tribes & Impact Through Digital Influence
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Community building in the digital space is changing the way we do business and create impact. Beyond content, there is a need to deepen relationships by creating conversations, building community and collectively supporting individual perspectives, while helping each other to thrive.
Digital influence built on community and impact, has proven to birth forth stronger success. In addition, brands who work with digital influencers are more convinced through engagement and the impact (conversions) that such partnerships create. They see more ROI when a trusted tribe has been built by the influencers they work with. It’s no wonder, Mark Zuckerberg updated the mission of Facebook to focus on building communities when he said– “Give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.”
Social media has given creatives, leaders and gamechangers the opportunity to express themselves, build a following, and also earn through their passions. This has aided more people to leverage on the power of the online space.
However, there is a huge gap amongst entrepreneurs and professionals in the creative and online space as regards building real impact, transforming lives, creating stronger communities and thriving in the process. How can we use social media to educate other aspiring leaders, creatives and entrepreneurs using community learning, which helps us build better networks and partnerships? How can technology aid a young fashion creative to connect and promote local manufacturing in the Nigeria fashion industry? How can we use technology to build communities we can trust through real time conversations?
The rise of creatives, online entrepreneurs and other professionals in this digital age, is truly a blessing. However, we can create greater impact that benefits the influencers, brands and the communities they serve.
This Meetup will create more awareness and possibilities available through community building, and enlighten attendees on the various opportunities available to build products and services that will add more value to their communities. Furthermore, attendees will network with like minds, learn from experts, and leave with ideas to help them thrive better in their businesses.
 Attendees will Learn:
•More about the importance of building solid communities through content
•How to Create a Vibrant Web Based Community
    • Becoming a digital Influencer by building an online community through impact
    • Utilizing Social Media For Developmental Relationships
    • Transiting From Digital To Physical ( Building Physical Interactions from Digital Connections )
    • Case Study: Ideas on how to build products and services that will benefit your tribe/community (and create more trust)
•From experts that have built thriving communities
    • Oppourtunity to meet industry experts
    • Network with fellow creatives, entrepreneurs and start ups

Who should attend tis session?

Reducing The Suicide Rate In Nigeria, One Post At A Time
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Nigeria, as far back as 2012, W.H.O estimated that 6.5% of the country’s population died by suicide. This is undoubtedly an underestimation of figures, knowing how stigmatized this practice is within the country, and the need for families to reduce the shame by covering up deaths by suicide. Undoubtedly, the rate of suicide cases is on the increase, as well as the rate by which it is being reported by the media (This may be due to the advent of social media and easy access to media sources).

The rate of suicide activities have been estimated to be on the increase for numerous reasons, which include but are not limited to the following; increasing incidence in cases of mental illness, stigma of cases of mental illnesses including depression, socioeconomic instability within the nation, increasing incidence of suicide cases within the country and inappropriate media exposure of this cases (which unfortunately opens a pseudo-method option to cope with stress by individuals coping with neglected mental illnesses).

Reducing The Suicide Rate In Nigeria, One Post At A Time will be directed at informing participants of how they can actively get involved in not only reducing the rising suicide rate in Nigeria but to also be active suicide spotters and interventionists both online and offline.
