Now more than ever, the ability to manage data and formulate a data strategy is critical to a company’s success. But how many companies have well-formulated data strategies? A cross-industry study shows that on the average, less than 1% of a company’s unstructured data is analyzed or used at all while more than 70% of employees have access to data they should not. The Role Of Technology In Delivering Investment Solutions
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

You need a:  Campus Badge to attend this event.

Business access to investments and capital have traditionally been the exclusive reserve of brokers / dealers / financial advisers who connect users of capital to suppliers of capital or business buyers to sellers. This traditional process has, however, had its limitations. Due to limited capacity of coverage and distribution, and concentration on its mostly high-end profit-making customer base, thousands of mainstreams to lower mainstream businesses seeking capital, business exits or connection to prospective investors and business buyers, are overlooked or excluded.

To this end, CompexAfrica will lead The Role Of Technology In Delivering Investment Solutions , a speaskeasy session focused on exploring strategies and challenges in deploying technology to connect wealth and capital suppliers with capital seekers and emerging business.

Financial Inclusion Leveraging On Social Reputation
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

You need a:  Campus Badge to attend this event.

Over 50% of Adult Africans lack access to formal credit. Partly because they do not have the typical collateral required by the banks (commercial & Microfinance) and as such are excluded. Financial institutions have no way of trusting people in this demography because they have no financial history and the process of ascertaining their ability to pay using traditional methods can be nearly impossible.

But what If we think in a different direction?  No matter how "impoverished" or "asset-lacking" an individual might be, we find every person at least has an origin, a descent and a community. This community is definitely an asset. Can the community that an individual has built over time constitute a collateral or a basis of trust for the individual?

Social reputation is bringing back an ancient technology to solve a modern problem. During this session we will explore how social connections can provide a digital fingerprint and data that can be accessed into some sort of collateral and asset to build more trust with financial institutions.

By leveraging on online, mobile, social media & other external data sources, can we harness the vast information available and provide a Social Reputation Score against which financial institutions can lend, invariably leading to financial inclusion?

The Digital Takeover: How Millennials Are Changing The Financial Landscape
Limited Capacity seats available

Every generation leaves its mark on the world, and every generation is influenced by the world they are nurtured in. Infact, with each passing generation comes a new set of values and expectations.

Today, we are so caught up on the millennial discussion. What trends are they driving? What are their interests? Why do they do the things they? Finally, how can industries adapt to continue to appeal to their newest target audience?

Growing up with an anytime, anywhere outlook to accessing a proliferation of online content and social media, millennials expect the same convenience and ease from their service providers - regardless of the industry. The financial services sector is no exception.

As millennials’ purchasing power continues to increase, this ‘always-on’ generation is continuously transforming banking by demanding and creating upgraded digital services that meet and exceed their own increasingly high service delivery expectations.

Their interest in solutions that simplify daily tasks such as bill payments, bank transfers, withdrawals and deposits, is already inspiring traditional financial institutions to push the industry envelope, thinking outside the box to offer banking solutions that keep pace with their online-only competitors.

2018 Social Media Week Lagos (#SMWLagos) provides us with a veritable platform to deepen discussions on this subject matter. Fidelity Bank, on the other hand is organizing a focused session on ‘The Millennial Takeover: How Millennials Are Changing The Financial Landscape”. Don’t be left out of the conversation, join us!
