Creative Connect
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

You need a:  Campus Badge to attend this event.

Every business needs a website, branding (and possibly an app ). For added credibility professional designers are necessary to make unique products which stand out. Creatives are everywhere but few actually have an online presence online and there is often a broken link between creatives and their target market.

Creative Connect is an intimate speakeasy conversation that speaks to creatives about their business process: getting and maintaining clients. What are they doing that is or isn’t working for them? How does the use of online tools vs traditional networking affect getting the next gig? Speakers will discuss and share new ideas for getting noticed, collaborating and taking advantage of digital tools more effectively.

Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

There is a blueprint for creating consistently engaging and viral content. That blueprint is hedged in understanding patterns in user behaviour. These patterns can be properly mapped with the right data collection and analyses tools at your disposal. Successful content creators have to constantly look at the data and understand the consumption patterns of their target audience, to achieve that fine balance between creating content that is both engaging/viral and ultimately improves the experience of those who engage with them. Content, Data And Virality: Building Consistently Successful Online Campaigns is a masterclass that will help attendees again a deeper understanding of the connection between data and content.

Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

You need a:  Campus Badge to attend this event.

When Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg visited Africa unannounced in 2016 he landed in Nigeria before a stopover in Kenya. (Noticeably, only the Nigeria leg of his visit was chosen for international news reports.) Yes, Nigeria is the continent's most populous country and this could explain why Mark chose it as the first stop for his first Sub-Saharan African visit... but maybe there is more to it. This session will take a deep dive into the latest Facebook stats to find some answers.

Nigeria provides a huge opportunity for Facebook and there may be a brighter future for businesses that use the Facebook platform. Facebook Stats: Why Nigeria Is On The Radar is a "must-attend" talk for developers, entrepreneurs and digital agencies who need to keep a close eye on Facebook growth trends and developments.

What I've Learned From Posting Photos Of My Girlfriend On Social Media
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

You need a:  Campus Badge to attend this event.

How best can we tell our stories? How human can we make them? Who is listening? What does Target Audience even mean? How do we create resonating and thumb stopping content in a world where the average attention span is quickly depleting?

In June, I decided to let the Twitter community know of my amazing girlfriend by wishing her a happy birthday. Thousands of retweets and comments later  I earned the title of 'Twitter Lover Boy' among my peers in the Digital Marketing Community.

But what I have learned from my spontaneous acts of love is a crucial lesson for brands; in how they tell their stories, how they demand attention in an attention deficit world and how they craft the perceptions of their target audience.

This session will explore how brands can recreate themselves as human rather than a logo on social media platforms. 'WILFPPOMGOSM 'will draw insights from the successes as well as the failures of  campaigns in the past year and uncover how brands can draw inspiration for the future of digital and marketing communications in Nigeria.

The meetup will be a chance for the active digital and connected audience to share their own experiences and at the end of it, be able to model  new lessons to craft a future where marketing and marketing communications is not just blasted out for whoever cares to listen but is crafted in such a way that is deserving of reciprocity in the social conversations.

Improving Service Delivery In Rural Communities Through Technology
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

You need a:  Campus Badge to attend this event.

Can technology intersect civic engagement and institutional reform to enhance service delivery? Like every other country, Nigerian government and agencies have public data and information that can help citizens make informed decisions. Today's citizens should know how government revenues are expended in the delivery of public infrastructure and funding of the budget.

Technology is a broad sphere, which is key to good governance. It is imperative that  citizens exploit innovation to establish transparent and accountable systems in our society. Budeshi and Tracka are digital tools designed to enhance transparency and accountable government in Nigeria.

This panel session will highlight how Budeshi.ng and Tracka have been used in enhanced implementation, tracking and red flagging of contractors and projects in over 20 states and 1,200 projects.

About Budeshi.ng Budeshi “open it” in the Hausa language) is an initiative of Public and Private Development Centre that aims to make government contracting information more transparent. It is doing this by linking budget and procurement data to the provision of public services and structuring the data, using the Open Contracting Data Standard, so that it can be visualized, searched, compared, and used. Budeshi’s work responds to the need for open, coherent, and usable data to enable better tracking and monitoring of public finance projects.

About Tracka.ng Tracka was established by BudgIT to address critical issues surrounding social and economic development in Nigeria, precisely the lack of citizens inclusion in developmental projects, an ever-increasing number of abandoned projects and poor execution of the few projects implemented. Over the years, Nigerians in rural communities have little or no ideas about government projects in their communities, Tracka then enables citizens to collaborate, track and give feedback on public projects in their community. Tracka uses both online and offline engagement channels to keep residents informed about government projects.
