Feminism & The Nigerian Kitchen is a round table discussion to explore the extent to which the role of women in the household has changed.

We'll be asking;
Is it still a woman's role to be in the kitchen? Should Nigerian women be expected to know how to cook certain cultural dishes?  To what extent has social media influenced the dynamics of the modern Nigerian family and the way that we cook and consume food? This will also be a chance to hear from some of the leading female chefs carving a space for themselves in the food industry in Nigeria, what has the reception been like for them?

  • Exploring how social media has influenced the dynamics of the modern Nigerian family and the way that we cook and consume food
  • Discovering what the current food consumption trends are in Nigeria
  • Looking at the opportunities within the food industry in Nigeria for both men and women
