Music is tough for songwriters and artists now that consumption has shifted from buying albums to streaming playlists. A tangled web of rights-holders and opaque processes make distributing the correct royalties to deserving parties hard. In our world today, a single song stream triggers payments to writers, performers, publishers, labels and others across multiple services and this eventually translates to billions of micro-transactions every day.
