The Storymoja organisation is a significant presence in the African literary scene. The annual festival has served as an important meeting point for artists from across the continent to share ideas, nurture their gifts, develop their craft and tap into the larger creative pool in order to further consolidate Africa’s place in the international creative scene.It is a five day international celebration of ideas, stories, writing and culture through books, live discussions, storytelling, skits, poetry, music, demonstrations, workshops, open mikes, debates, exhibitions, live performance, art and competitions.It originated in Kenya, but I am the Co-ordinator of the Ghana hub, a Patron for the W.E.B. Dubois Centre in Accra and a Director of the Kofi Awoonor Foundation. A foundation founded in memory of my late father, Prof. Kofi Awoonor, who was one of Africa's foremost writers.
